One day, Kevin Redick brought home a German Shepherd for his kids. What he didn’t expect was his wife’s reaction. “You’re not washing that dog in our tub!” she insisted. That moment sparked an idea—how could he create a better way to wash pets at home without making a mess?
From Makeshift to Masterpiece
With years of experience as a product designer, Kevin knew he could solve this problem. He started by using a simple box lined with plastic. Over time, he experimented with different designs, using an elongated transmission box to refine his idea. He even bent PVC tubing with hot sand to shape the structure of what would become ZipSpa® Portable Pet Shower.
Over a Decade of Dedication
Kevin spent over 14 years perfecting his design. Family responsibilities came first—he focused on getting his kids through college before fully investing in his idea. Through multiple iterations and testing on over 30 dogs, he finally created a lightweight, foldable, and user-friendly pet-washing station that pet owners would love.
